About Us
O’ya was born from a deep love for tradition—and a bold desire to make it new. As Taiwanese Americans who grew up in our families’ restaurants, we were raised around tables that were always alive with energy, comfort, and connection. Every recipe is inspired by the flavors we grew up with and made to invite everyone in. For us, food should never divide; it should always bring people closer. At O’ya, our goal is simple: to craft sauces that welcome everyone to the table, no matter what’s being served.
Even our name reflects that spirit. O’ya is a play on of “Oh yeah!” the universal exclamation of approval when something just hits right. The name captures the moment when flavor upgrades an ordinary bite into something unforgettable. In Mandarin, the particle “呀 / ya” is often used at the end of a phrase to soften it, add warmth, or express excitement. It’s bold, fun, and a little cheeky — just like the sauces themselves.
That's the O'ya effect.
